Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD), the US-based neobroker, is setting its sights on global growth in 2025. Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood UK, discussed the company’s plans in a year-end interview. He revealed that Robinhood UK will soon introduce options trading for its clients, expecting it to roll out in early 2025. This announcement comes after Robinhood successfully launched its UK platform in Q1 2024. Over the year, the company also added margin investing for its UK clients, signaling its commitment to expanding its regional product offerings.

Sinclair, who joined Robinhood in mid-2023 after serving as Managing Director of Europe for UK neobroker Freetrade, has played a crucial role in leading Robinhood’s UK expansion efforts. The company’s entry into the UK market is part of its broader strategy to reach new international audiences and build a more substantial presence outside the US.

Crypto Trading in the UK: A Wait-and-See Approach
Despite Robinhood’s success with cryptocurrency trading in the US and the European Union, the company is more cautious in the UK. Sinclair emphasized that Robinhood is still “monitoring the situation” regarding uncertain UK crypto regulations. The evolving regulatory landscape for digital assets in the UK, where authorities are still finalizing the rules around crypto trading, likely prompts this wait-and-see approach.

Further Expansion in Asia
Robinhood is actively growing its presence in Asia. Following its successful launches in the UK and EU, the company plans to establish regional headquarters in Singapore to expand further into the Asian market. This move highlights Robinhood’s ambition to solidify its position as a global player in the fintech space.

Impressive Financial Performance
Robinhood closes 2024 with its stock trading at $39.58 per share, more than three times its value at the start of the year. This strong performance underscores the company’s growing influence and potential for further growth in international markets as it enters 2025.
